Separation of Power is the fifth novel in Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series, published in 2001. The thriller follows CIA operative Mitch Rapp as he races against time to stop Saddam Hussein from acquiring nuclear weapons, a mission complicated by political intrigue and a two-week ultimatum from Israel. The plot involves Rapp navigating the dangerous streets of Baghdad and the political landscape of Washington D.C. to prevent a potential World War III. 

Vince Flynn was an American author best known for his political thriller novels featuring the CIA operative Mitch Rapp. He published numerous bestsellers from the early 1990s until his death in 2013. Flynn’s books are noted for fast-paced plots, espionage, counterterrorism themes, and political intrigue, often exploring U.S. national security issues. Some of his most famous titles include Transfer of Power, Consent to Kill, Executive Power, and American Assassin (which began a separate prequel series co-authored by Kyle Mills after Flynn’s death).
